This story comes from a retail lighting project in North America.

This story comes from a retail lighting project in North America.

The customer was a home décor retail chain with dozens of stores and a growing e-commerce business.

They selected a collection of handwoven rattan pendant lights for a seasonal launch.

The sample looked perfect.

The first shipment looked perfect too.

But when the second replenishment order arrived, a problem appeared.

The same lamp.

The same design.

Different colors.

Some pieces were lighter.

Some were darker.

Some had a noticeable yellow tone.

For consumers, it looked like different products.

For the customer, it became a much bigger issue:

❌ Inconsistent store displays

❌ Product photos no longer matched inventory

❌ Mixed colors in the warehouse

❌ Customer complaints and returns

❌ Brand image at risk

The customer had worked with suppliers before who relied heavily on manual dyeing experience.

A sample could be copied.

A production batch could not.

When we joined the project, we didn't start with pricing.

We started with color control.

Every color was standardized through a color card system.

The rattan source, dye supplier, formula concentration, soaking time, drying process, and finishing standards were all documented and locked.

Before production:

✓ Approved color samples

During production:

✓ Batch-by-batch color verification

After production:

✓ Sample retention and traceability records

We also upgraded the finishing process.

Instead of traditional spray coloring, we adopted a 2-step system:

Step 1: Full dip-dyeing for deeper and more even color penetration.

Step 2: Secondary mist coating for surface protection, finish enhancement, and color consistency.

The result?

Six consecutive replenishment orders.

Consistent color.

Consistent quality.

Consistent customer experience.

After the project, the purchasing manager told us:

"You are not just supplying rattan lamps.

You are helping us protect our brand."

Because for wholesalers, importers, distributors, and retail chains, success is not about one shipment.

It's about making sure the 10th shipment looks exactly like the first.

If you're sourcing rattan lighting for large-volume projects, retail chains, or long-term product programs, you need more than a manufacturer.

You need a partner who can deliver the same quality, the same color, and the same standard—every batch, every time.
